Automate Email with Document Attachments

How to Send an Email and Attach a Document Efficiently

In this article, you will learn how to send an email and attach a document efficiently. Sending emails with attached documents can streamline communication processes and ensure that all necessary information is easily accessible to the recipients. Follow the step-by-step guide below to effectively send out emails with attachments.

Install the Attached Zip with Invocable Action

At this time, Salesforce Flow does not support attaching files dynamically. To work around this limitation, you can install the provided zip file containing the invocable action. This action enables you to seamlessly send an email (include email template) along with the desired documents. To set up the action successfully, refer to the installation instructions included in the zip file.

Use the New Invocable Action You Installed in your Flow

Incorporate the newly installed invocable action into your flow to enable the attachment feature. Configure the action to include the document you want to send along with the email template. This step links the email template with the document seamlessly for a more efficient workflow.

Send a Test Email

Before sending out the final email with the attached document, it's crucial to send a test email to yourself or a colleague. This allows you to review the email layout, ensure the attachment is included correctly, and check for any errors or formatting issues. Make any necessary adjustments before proceeding.

Review the Email and Attached Document

Once you receive the test email, review both the email content and the attached document carefully. Verify that all the information is accurate, the document is properly attached, and the overall presentation meets your standards. Address any discrepancies or issues promptly.

Make Any Necessary Edits

If you identify any errors or areas for improvement during the review process, make the necessary edits to the email template or the attached document. Pay attention to details such as spelling and grammar, content accuracy, and visual layout. Ensure that the final email is polished and professional.
